Who we are
The Georgia Center for Diabetes Translation Research is an NIDDK-funded center (P30 DK111024) based at Emory University in collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine and the Georgia Institute of Technology. This website, gcdtr.org, is operated by the Center. Questions about this policy can be sent to gcdtr@emory.edu.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this site — a membership application, a pilot or incentive-grant application, a consultation request, a data-repository request, a newsletter sign-up, or a contact message — we collect the information you enter, such as your name, email address, institution, role, and the content of your request or application, together with any files you upload.
Account information. If you sign in to the member portal, pilot grant system, or administrative workspace, we store your account details, sign-in method (password or passkey), and a record of sign-ins and actions taken in those systems.
Usage information. We run a first-party page-analytics system that records page views, clicks, downloads and form submissions along with a randomly generated session identifier, the page you came from, your browser type and approximate screen size. It does not use third-party advertising trackers and we do not sell or share this data with advertisers.
Cookies. We use cookies only to keep you signed in to the portal systems, to protect forms against automated abuse, and to remember interface preferences. Third-party content embedded on the site (for example YouTube videos or LinkedIn posts) may set cookies under those providers’ own policies.
How we use information
- to review and administer membership, pilot, and incentive-grant applications, consultations and data requests;
- to send confirmations, reminders, decision letters and reporting requests related to your applications and awards;
- to operate the member directory and publication listings for current Center members;
- to report aggregate activity to the National Institutes of Health as required by the Center’s award;
- to understand how the site is used and improve it; and
- to keep the site and its systems secure.
Sharing
Applications and requests are shared with Center staff, reviewers and leadership at the partner institutions who need them to make decisions. Aggregate, de-identified information may be included in progress reports to NIDDK. We do not sell personal information. Service providers that host the site and deliver email process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
Retention and security
Application and award records are retained for the life of the Center’s award and as required by Emory University and federal record-keeping rules. Uploaded files and portal data are stored outside the public web directory and are accessible only to signed-in administrators. Passwords are stored as salted hashes; passkeys are supported as a phishing-resistant sign-in method.
Your choices
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to be removed from the member directory or mailing list, by emailing gcdtr@emory.edu. Members can also update their own profile from the member portal.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date above.
