Last week, GCDTR held its 8th Annual Scientific Symposium at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Dr. Sherita Hill Golden, Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine, gave the keynote address on health disparities, culturally responsive care, and the need for systemic changes to combat racism in healthcare.
The symposium reviewed the Pilot and Feasibility (P&F) program, introduced current P&F awardees, and featured a rapid-fire discussion on their research. Additionally, strategies to enhance community engagement in research were discussed, highlighting the importance of building strong relationships with community partners and involving them in advisory groups and research teams.
